Shannon, This is just great. Well done! The photography is beautiful and the soundtrack fits so well - peaceful and soothing to the soul. You both must be so proud, as we are of you.
oh, that was just lovely. can i just say, I've been following this project and your blog for the past year from the beautiful and rugged north western united states and i am so excited for you guys that you are nearing completion. the work is simply inspiring and wonderful. as a ceramicist who is completely in love with nature myself, i have been so glad to find your work and know there is such beauty out there. best of luck on your exhibition. can't wait to see photos. :)
That is great! Not only does it show the beautiful landscape but a wonderful way to show the whole process the pair of you have undertaken to make the beautiful things from the inspiration of that place.
This is a really cool video! When I can see the scratching technique on the bowl; is that oxide being scratched off? It's lovely to see so many techniques come from one inspiration!
Welcome to "Strange Fragments". I am an Australian contemporary ceramicist and believe that artists should spread their knowledge to increase a general understanding of what we do and build communities throughout the world.
"Strange Fragments" explores the strange byways and obscure currents of contemporary craft and design
Everyday objects are stranger than we think. The world is full of fascinating, unknowable things. Drawings connect me to the user of the vessel. When drinking out of a cup and idly running your finger across a texture or pattern it inserts another element into idle musing – me saying “Look closer” “Connect”.”
