working process

This work is in an exhibition at Salmon Galleries, 71 Union St Mc Mahon's Point, this December. I've just had a flying visit to Sydney to deliver the work and give a talk to art lovers at Salmon. It was such a lovely experience, it is so rare to be able to talk about what you do and meet people who already own your work and hear about how they experience it in their own homes. Fascinating.

Just out of the kiln......

Pied Beauty
GLORY be to God for dappled things—
For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced—fold, fallow, and plough;
And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.

All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.
