Farewell.........

You will have seen in my last post that I am starting a Masters Degree. Writing is sometimes easy and sometimes like pulling teeth (the really hard wisdom teeth!) Having to concentrate on writing things such as "Reflective Journals" and "Study Plans" has made me see that I can't do this blog justice and do the hard thinking and writing needed for a Masters.

I've been writing "Strange Fragments" for over 6 years now and it has been a wonderful, wonderful experience. I've felt connected to a world of people that hopefully, over the next few years, I'll actually get to meet in the flesh. Being part of an international community of artists and people who love art has given me so much strength and inspiration and I am still part of that community...but in a different way.

I've just started a Facebook page called Shannon Garson Porcelain that will offer snippets from the studio and information about workshops exhibitions etc.

Please keep getting in touch and sending me your information and one day, at a conference, exhibition, workshop or maybe at my studio we will meet up and I'll get to see you in person!

Thank you all for the feedback, encouragement and just for reading the "strange fragments" of a potter's life.
Shannon

Good luck! I have enjoyed reading your thoughts and learning from your experiences.

My dream is that you will somehow find the time to continue blogging while you pursue your studies. Even if its just to stop in now and again and tell us how things are going. It would be something that your many fans would treasure.

The great thing about a blog is that it can be anything and be posted as frequently or rarely as you want. It doesn't have to be the high level of effort and thoughtfulness you have put into 'strange fragments' over the years. So I will keep my subscription active in the hope that some day in the not so distant future you will be back with us and sharing of your adventures.

Again good luck, and thank you for all the care you have put into your blog and the many interesting and important things you have shared with us.

Please post your essays as you go though your studies. You are a fantastic writer and I'm sure many of us could learn a whole bunch reading over your shoulder... I know you've opened up my world more than just a small bit. Thank you!
Have lots of fun and make it work for you!

Hi Shannon,

I am really sorry that your
blog is ending; I have had it linked
to mine for quite some time. I love
your work, and enjoy your writing so
much.

Best of luck with your new endeavor!

Don't give up ! The whole reason I started a blog was to do with the fact that I was doing my MA and I came across a piece of writing by Carole Epp where I then found her blog.I found the writing for the MA and the blog to be complimentary.

I agree with Gerry! Please don't give up! Maybe posts will be few and far between, but your blog is one of the best and would be sorely missed! I'm eager to read about your adventures in grad school. Best of luck!

Shannon, I think yours was some of the first ceramic work I came across when I moved to Australia to study 2 years ago. You have been a constant inspiration to me since then and I will surely continue to be an avid fan, though I am sad to see this blog come to an end. It is however a good excuse for me to trawl through the archives! Good luck to you as you study for your Masters - Katy.
