My Nana

My Nana was the first person to give me an appreciation of the soothing powers of a cup of tea served in fine china. Now, when I drink tea and make teacups and teapots it reminds me of all the lovely cups of tea I've had over the years in Nana's old teacups, from the 1970's cup and saucer sets completely covered in gold through to "fine, bone china" cups with roses on the interior. This was just one of the many, many precious things she bought into my life.

She died yesterday at the age of 89.

So sorry about your Nana, she looks so cute in that photo.
My mom's dad is my only grandparent left, he turned 100 last year. I miss my Nana.

Sorry to hear of your sad news. No matter the age of your loved one the loss is just as acute.

i am so sorry for you loss. My Nana [in italian we say Nonna] brought a lot of passions in my life, reading, cooking, and crafting things with different mediums. the thing which helped me the most after her passing, was imagining her on a cloud with her books, her crochet and one of her lovely cakes. a big hug from Italy

Condolences Shannon. There is something about those Nana's, huh.

love to you on the passing of your nana. Mine passed away 23 years ago and she still is part of my daily life now. The skills of hand made textiles, food preparation, stopping and smelling the roses are all things she passed on to me. My favourite moments were sitting as a young child watching her create.
your nana will live on in you too
